Check for SIM unlocking

Please make sure that your handset is SIM lock-free or SIM unlocked, and contact the carrier from whom you purchased the handset for the SIM unlocking procedure.

Delete APN configuration profile

Please note that if you are using a low-cost SIM (UQmobile, Y!mobile, mineo, IIJmio, etc.), you may need to delete the profile. From the Settings menu, select [General] > [VPN and Device Management] and delete the APN configuration profile if one exists.

Deleting an APN configuration profile will disable communication with that carrier, so it is recommended to delete it before boarding an airplane, for example.

Please be sure to check the supported frequencies

Please be sure to check the frequencies supported by the SIM card you purchased and whether your handset supports those frequencies. Please note that we cannot respond to problems with devices that are not compatible. (SIM-free devices that are compatible with the latest iOS can be used.)
